Ivy and Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities, Inc. (IPSMCC) is a 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of IPSMCC is to support the Maryland Communities of Charles and St. Mary’s Counties. We aim to enhance the socio-economic condition of our environment by providing educational, charitable, financial, cultural and health-related resources and events.
Ivy & Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities, Inc. (IPSMCC), in partnership with LifeStyles, Inc., offers free SNAP Benefits Assistance to community members in need. Assistance is available at IPSMCC Headquarters and includes help with SNAP applications, redeterminations, customer benefit reviews, change forms, and fraud applications.

Description: Relay for Life of Charles County, “Boot Out Cancer”! Join Ivy & Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities, Inc., and Nu Zeta Omega for this western event, that we raise money to end cancer. There will be games, food, dancing and relay walks!

Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom and the Arts
Date and Time: Friday, June 19, 2026 from 3PM – 7PM

Description: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nu Zeta Omega Chapter and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Lambda Alpha Chapter will host the Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom and the Arts festival. The festival will provide the community with a meaningful space to honor history, celebrate culture, and build lasting connections. Through a vibrant lineup of cultural performances, the festival will uplift local and regional talent while preserving and sharing traditions rooted in the African diaspora. Music, dance, and spoken word will offer both entertainment and education, deepening community appreciation for Black cultural expression. The event will support economic empowerment by hosting a local vendor market featuring Black-owned businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs. This marketplace will create opportunities for small businesses to grow, connect with new customers, and keep resources circulating within the community. A diverse selection of food trucks will bring people together over shared meals, offering culturally rich cuisine that reflects heritage and innovation. These culinary experiences will foster connection, conversation, and cultural pride. The festival will also provide interactive activities for all ages, including workshops, youth engagement zones, and educational exhibits. These hands-on experiences will encourage learning, creativity, and intergenerational dialogue, ensuring that the significance of Juneteenth continues to resonate with future generations. Overall, the Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom and the Arts will serve as a unifying platform—strengthening community bonds, amplifying Black voices, and creating an inclusive environment where culture, history, and joy are shared by all.
